Job Description

The School of Biological Sciences at University of New England invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor for the 2021-2022 academic year. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty and staff with expertise across a broad array of biological specialties, including Medical Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.

The successful candidate will teach and engage in curriculum development for first-year biology lecture and laboratory courses for non-majors. The candidate will also teach additional courses in his/her area of expertise as needed. Duties of an Assistant Teaching Professor also include participation in curriculum assessment at all levels; academic advising; recruiting; and service to the school, college and university.

A master's or doctoral degree in biology or a relevant field is required by the time of appointment; a doctoral degree is preferred. Individuals with significant experience using technology and digital media are encouraged to apply. The desired candidate will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
