Assistant/Associate Professor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (depending on qualifications) of Prosthodontics
School of Dental Medicine, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Section of Prosthodontics
The Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time tenure or clinical track position at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Section of Prosthodontics. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching in the pre-doctoral program and service to the University. For tenure track appointments, independent research and scholarly activity is also expected. Working in collaboration with other faculty, both in teaching and research, is strongly encouraged. Extramural faculty practice is available.
The SIU School of Dental Medicine is the only dental school in Illinois that is outside the Chicago metropolitan area, and within a 200-mile radius of St. Louis. The convenient location offers a small-town feel with big-city access. A D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from a CODA accredited dental school. Advances education in Prosthodontics, board eligibility or certification, and demonstrated interest and/or experience in teaching and research are desired. Candidates holding an M.S. degree are preferred. Applicants must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Illinois, or be able to meet the requirements for permanent licensure in Illinois. General dentists with demonstrated experience in Prosthodontics will also be considered.
Terms of Appointment
Full-time, term or continuing beginning January 1, 2022.

Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The safety of our staff and patients is the number one priority during these uncertain times. The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) has created strict safety protocols for all students, residents, fellows, faculty, staff and patients to help ensure the health and well-being of everyone who enters the clinical environment. SDM administration will provide staff (with) all appropriate PPE's per CDC and OSHA current guidelines. Faculty, students, residents, and staff are being screened daily to ensure that they have not developed any issues or had any exposures, as will patients entering the clinics for appointments. In regard to cleaning protocols, SDM is using enhanced cleaning methods as recommended by CDC, OSHA and other agencies.
