Head Wrestling Coach/Assistant Professor

Salary and Terms: Athletic fixed-term, full-time position. Salary placement is based on qualifications.
Appointment Date; July 1, 2021 or date to be negotiated

Position Description

The Head Wrestling Coach will be responsible for the administration of all phases of an NCSS Division II wrestling program including: recruitment of quality student athletes, organize and train student athletes for successful competition, and monitoring and supporting the academic success of the team. Other duties include: pan and conduct pre- and post-season workouts, prepare and manage budget, fundraising activities and records, and develop alumni relations. Athletic administrative duties may include game management and special events. Head coaching/athletic administrative duties will be 75% of the assignment. The position will including teaching assignment of six credits (25%) that reflect the candidate's degree, prior teaching experience, and/or area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Two years wrestling coach experience at the collegiate or high school level.
  • Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships through the recruitment process and student-athlete experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective human relation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Upper Midwest collegiate recruiting experience.
  • Fundraising, camp programming, specials events, and game management experience.
  • Prior teaching experience.
