Position Vacancy Announcement

The Department of Mathematics is accepting qualified applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position.  Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and research and a willingness to help foster the undergraduate and graduate experience at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. 


Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related field.

Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; Ability to secure external funding to establish and sustain research programs; Demonstrated record of developing the academic skills of students; Ability to utilize modern technology in teaching; Record of implementing pedagogical best practices in teaching mathematics and statistics courses; Ability to work collegially with other faculty; Ability to teach collaboratively with faculty across disciplines; Ability to show high levels of scientific creativity; and ability to clearly communicate scientific information, both written and orally.



Pay Plan

This is a Faculty position.


Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person's period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide documentation.
