Division Information

The newly created Mental Health and Wellness Center is seeking to hire a licensed Mental Health Clinician.

The Mental Health Clinician facilitates the coordination of care and individual support for students experiencing significant mental health and/or addiction challenges. The purpose of this role is to enhance the conditions and likelihood of students’ personal and academic success and to contribute to a campus community that strives to be supportive and conducive to positive student mental health and overall well being.

This contracted faculty is a professional with the primary responsibility of providing clinical student support services respectfully, equitably, and inclusively to a diverse and multicultural student population in alignment with Lane’s Vision, Mission, and Values.

Case Management:

• Provides counseling to individuals and groups either in person or remotely regarding mental health and/or addiction.
• Consults with students, faculty, staff and parents regarding mental health and/or addiction issues and the well-being of students.
• Helps manage any crisis situations.
• Responds to consultation requests from faculty and staff.
• Maintains a database of local referral resources and serve as a liaison to community mental health providers.
• Maintains a database of student records and progress notes.
• Facilitates off campus referrals for students that need long term or specialized care.


Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, human services, or related field
  • Completed licensure in good standing in counseling or mental health-related field current in the state of Oregon
  • Certification in good standing in drug and alcohol counseling at a level of CADC I or higher current in the state of Oregon

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience providing mental health counseling services in a professional setting to adults

Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.

Preferred Education

  • Doctorate Degree in counseling, social work, drug and alcohol services or related field
  • Certification in drug and alcohol counseling at a level of CADC II current in the state of Oregon and/or National drug and alcohol counseling certification
