Division Information

Our Computer Information Technology Department is seeking to hire faculty to teach several Computer Science and Computer Information Technology courses.

Position Information

The primary responsibility of the Computer Information Technology Instructor is to provide quality teaching in a full range of community college Computer Science and Computer Information Systems courses including a mix of certification and transfer level courses. Instructors must have a passion for what they teach, and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.

  • The successful candidate for this position will teach Computer Science and Computer Information Systems courses both on campus and online.
    Potential courses include but not limited to:
  • General Computer Literacy and Introduction to Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Full-stack Web Development
  • Mobile Application Development
  • Database Development
  • Networking
  • Cyber Security
  • Develop and teach other courses in Computer Science and Computer Information Technology as needed


Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field.


  • Master’s degree in any subject, plus proficiency in course subject matter as evidenced by experience, education, certification or other.

Required Experience:

Three (3) years related industry or instructional experience within the last five (5) years, and specific knowledge in the course subject area demonstrated to the satisfaction of the division dean.

Conditions of Employment:

Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Education

  • Graduate coursework in Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Graduate coursework in Networking, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Industry certification in Networking, Cyber Security, Software Engineering.

Preferred Experience

  • Classroom teaching, Curriculum development, developing online curriculum and/or providing online instruction.
  • Leadership in industry or academic setting.
  • Working in collaborative a environment.
