Position Summary

Assist with the maintenance and development of all campus grounds, equipment, and supplies.

Reports to Executive Director of Facilities Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Responsible for a variety of landscape and grounds maintenance activities, including but not limited to:
· Mowing, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, pruning, planting and watering of grounds
· Keeping the parking lots and fields clear of litter and other debris
· Snow removal using shovels, snow throwers and the College-owned plow truck
· Athletic field maintenance
· General grounds repair work
· Assist with landscape installations
· Perform removals of tress up to 12 in diameter
· Works with and coordinates the daily work tasks with the Groundskeeper position.
· Ability to use heavy equipment, such as mini-excavators, skid steers, front-end loader tractors
· Contact contractors for grounds project bidding, e.g. larger tree removals, large area grading/plantings or tree plantings. Monitor their activities while on campus.
· Monitor, critique, and communicate with outsourced landscape maintenance and snow removal on-site work staff
· Maintenance of grounds equipment
· Manage and maintain the College's attic stock of material
· Assist with inventory of grounds supplies/equipment
· Minor maintenance repairs on grounds equipment and machinery
· Interior and exterior painting
· Provide for fleet vehicle service, inspections, repairs, cleaning, and fueling
· Work collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
· Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Required Education High School Graduate or equivalent plus specialized training Other Required Qualifications

· High School diploma, plus additional specialized training
· Valid state driver's license
· Two or more years' experience in related field
· Prior experience using heavy equipment such as mini-excavators, skid steers and front-end loader tractors
