The Assistant Director of Career Exploration is a member of the Career Coaching team within the Center for Career Excellence and reports to the Director. The Assistant Director of Career Exploration works with Career Excellence colleagues, academic departments, and key University partners to implement the Center’s early education and engagement strategy for career exploration and preparation to assist students in understanding the relationship between their liberal arts education and career possibilities. The Assistant Director plays a significant role in providing individualized career coaching to students and offers strategically designed student programming as determined through consultation with faculty in assigned academic departments. The Assistant Director maintains direct working relationships with assigned campus areas, helps facilitate alumni-lead career programming, and assists in teaching Career Classes as appropriate. The Assistant Director also manages and supervises the Center’s student intern staff.
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, business, or related field required; minimum 2 years of experience in career development/collegiate career services or related field; this may include one year as a graduate or undergraduate intern within a Career Office, or similar office, at a college/university.
