Job Description

Erskine College invites applications for a tenure-track teaching position in Education at the rank of assistant or associate professor beginning August 2021. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in an education-related field of study is required. The successful candidate will embrace, support, and promote Erskine's Christian mission and philosophy of Christian higher education. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in an academically rigorous Christian liberal arts environment that emphasizes the intentional integration of faith and learning.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses within the school's nationally accredited teacher education program; writing and facilitating the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation program reports; and other duties according to skills and expertise.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in an education-related field of study
  • Teaching experience at the P-12 level; experience in special education or exceptional student education preferred 
  • Experience with accreditation documents; knowledge and training in CAEP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Notable record of scholarship, teaching, and service in higher education
  • Knowledge of assessment trends and best practices in assessment of student learning outcomes and program outcomes* Knowledge of NIET 4.0 teacher evaluations
  • Experience supervising pre-service teachers in field placements 
  • Ability to assume responsibility for tasks with considerable independence
  • Ability to think and act creatively with people, information and ideas
  • Record of experience designing and implementing initiatives that lead to improvement of teacher education programming
  • Knowledge and understanding of and experience with program assessment
