Job Description

Glenville State College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment in Exercise Science beginning August 2021. Individuals with interest or expertise in curriculum innovation as well as a commitment to teaching and scholarly excellence in their specialties are encouraged to apply Examples of Duties: Academic responsibilities include teaching, advising students, supervising interns, participating in the development and advancement of curriculum, utilizing excellent written and oral communication skills, engaging in service activities within the program, department, college, and community as appropriate, work collaboratively within the department to help meet stated goals and objectives, participating in departmental and college service activities, and contributing to student recruitment and retention activities.

Teaching responsibilities include introductory and upper level undergraduate courses in exercise science in the areas of Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Prescription, Research Methods, Fitness Testing and laboratory/application based experiences. Typical Qualifications: Applicants with a doctorate degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred, candidates with ABD status will be considered

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. An earned MS degree in Exercise Science or closely-related discipline from an accredited institution,
  2. The experience/training to teach courses such as Exercise Physiology Lab, Foundations in Exercise Science & Physical Education, and other classes within the department,
  3. Prior experience in advising and/or mentoring undergraduate students,
  4. prior experience in laboratory settings.
