Albright College, a liberal arts college in Reading, PA, is seeking applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment for one year in the Psychology Department, starting Fall 2021, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The preferred area of specialization for the candidate is open and may include clinical psychology, educational psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, or health psychology. A Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred, but ABD candidates will also be considered.
The candidate must be qualified to teach introductory psychology and either an upper level psychology research laboratory course or psychological assessment. If the position is renewed for a second year, the candidate should have the ability to teach a statistics and research methods laboratory that involves supervision of student research projects, if needed. The candidate should be able to teach one, preferably two or more, of the following courses: Personality, Adult Psychopathology, Child Psychopathology, Lifespan Development, Health Psychology. There is also a possibility of teaching other courses within the candidate's specialty area.
The candidate should have teaching experience and some experience mentoring undergraduate research and demonstrated ability or potential for working with/teaching a diverse student body, and commitment to building an inclusive and equitable academic community, as described in Albright College's Inclusivity and Equity Statement. We also expect a degree of familiarity with classroom and laboratory technology. Research support and professional development opportunities are available.
