The School of Law is home to over 50 academic staff, supported by an administrative team, and a highly diverse student community of 1,300 students studying on campus, with more studying with overseas partners. We have a long tradition of providing practice oriented legal higher education with a strong links to regional legal community, and a growing strength in supporting communities through our clinical legal education.  Our staff and students are the real key to our success, and we are committed to delivering excellent teaching and learning for our students, in which research is an important component.  

We are seeking a Professor and Head of School to lead this exciting school, which symbolises our driving ambition to support the city and the region as the university For Birmingham. Candidates will bring a track record as a leader in a relevant academic discipline and combine this with a desire to continue our external engagement and focus on our core activities of delivering a great student experience and enhancing graduate level employability.   As we continue to deliver improvements in key performance areas the Head of School will build upon our enhancements towards the TEF, REF and our growing strength in our clinic work, to the benefit of our students' learning. Importantly, the successful candidate will have an inclusive management style, accompanied by strong communication skills and the ability to engage with, and inspire, the staff, students and wider community.
