Job Description

The Gallaspy College of Education and Human Development at Northwestern State University is seeking an individual for a full-time 9-month tenure track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Adult Learning and Development beginning August 9, 2021. The College offers online graduate degrees at the master's and doctoral levels: M.A. and Ed.D. in Adult Learning and Development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate holding the PhD/EdD in Adult Learning and Development or field closely related to the focus and requirements of the position from an accredited institution is required. ABD candidates expecting to complete degree requirements within one calendar year may be considered. Strong preference will be given to the applicant with assessment background (added financial incentive possible). Preference will be given to individuals with community college/higher education leadership and/or teaching experience, adult learning/education experience, previous online teaching experience, and those who can demonstrate performance or strong promise in teaching, research, service, and program improvement and innovation.

JOB CONCEPTS:
  • Develop and teach master's and doctoral courses in the Adult Learning and Development programs with concentrations in Adult Learning and Development (M.A. & Ed.D.), Community College Leadership (Ed.D.), and e-Learning (M.A.); summer teaching probable.
  • Engage in teaching, research and service activities;
  • Recruit, advise, and mentor graduate students, including serving on/chairing dissertation committees;
  • Collaborate with faculty and community stakeholders for program improvement;
  • Work closely with other University, College, and Department faculty and professionals;
  • Participate in program governance at the College and University levels as well as contribute to one's professional organizations;
  • Serve on University, College and Department committees;
  • Assist in writing and submitting documents and reports associated with accreditation.
