Assistant Professor of Vocal Music and Director of Choirs
Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Vocal Music or Visiting Assistant Professor of Vocal Music, who will also serve as Director of Choirs.
Responsibilities: Teach applied voice lessons and courses in the music education sequence, and conduct the university concert choir, chamber choir, and a select 8-piece a capella vocal group. Teaching load is the equivalent of 12 hours each semester. This position is also responsible for recruiting and retaining vocal music students. Service to the university, profession, and the community is expected. For the tenure-track position, academic advising and university service are expected after the first year.
Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Music; demonstrated choral experience at the secondary and collegiate level; evidence of ongoing creative, performing, and/or research activities.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Music; experience in recruiting students and in working collaboratively with secondary school choir programs.
