Job Description

Stetson University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Health to begin in August 2021. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track position for the academic year of 2021-2022. Review of applications will begin May 10 and continue until the position is filled.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Dr. P.H. in public health or closely related field by the time of appointment, with teaching and research interests in public health. For those with terminal degrees in closely related fields, an M.P.H. is required. As an institution in the liberal arts tradition, we are interested in attracting outstanding teacher-scholars who support undergraduate students in investigating critical issues. We seek an individual with demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate public health students. The committee will prioritize candidates with interest in teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per semester, including three sections of introduction to public health and one course in environmental health or another course in the candidate's area of expertise. The ability to teach public health statistics and mentor undergraduate research, though not required, is highly desirable.

The position will be housed in the Department of Environmental Science and Studies. The Public Health Program offers major and minor degrees in public health. Our focus is exclusively on undergraduate students who desire rigorous and interdisciplinary training within the context of a liberal arts education.

SALARY: Salary is competitive.
