The Department of Integrated Information Technology, College of Engineering and Computing, University of South Carolina, invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Information Technology Instructor. This is an 11-month renewable appointment. The candidate selected for this position will have primary responsibility for teaching undergraduate courses in information technology (in both classroom and online settings) with a focus on some combination of IT foundations, hardware and software fundamentals, networking, operating systems, trouble-shooting, IT management, program design and development, databases and analytics, project management, cybersecurity, web development, mobile technologies, user experience/user design, or training systems. Responsibilities will include departmental, college, and university committees and participation in IIT program assessment. The Integrated Information Technology Department offers a bachelor of science in integrated information technology, master’s degree in health information technology, and PhD in Informatics with an optional health informatics concentration.
A master’s in information technology, information systems, or closely related field and demonstrated expertise in teaching at the post-secondary level are required.
A doctorate in information technology, information systems or a closely related field is highly desired. Industry experience and online teaching experience are preferred.
