The Department of
Psychology, located within the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, invites applications for a full-time tenure-earning 9-month
faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 2021. The position reports to the Department
Assistant professor is expected to provide quality instruction in three to four courses per semester on (psychological) statistics, research
design, research methods and/or experimental psychology at the undergraduate and graduate level; Prepares lectures, courses activities, and
materials; grade exams and papers; and implement departmental assessment plan; Provides support to undergraduate students about psychology
curriculum, research, preparation for graduation, employment, graduate school and other academic matters; Attends faculty meetings;
participate on departmental committees and in departmental programs and activities; Prepares administrative reports relative to activities;
Conducts research and publish in areas of specialty; Engages in grantsmanship related to area of specialty or departmental needs;
participates on University committees; and engages in relevant community service.
Must demonstrate committment to larger community
through involvement in service.Minimum
Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology or related field (statistics, research, design and
methodology, applied statistical analysis, measurement and design,
be capable of teaching Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, Experimental Psychology and other related courses at the undergraduate
and graduate levels; Experience working with diverse population of students; Knowledge and experience working with multicultural
issues;Teaching experience equivalent to junior-level ranks; and scholarly publications and grantsmanship equivalent to junior-level
Anticipated Salary Range
- Demonstrates success working with African American and other diverse populations;
- Demonstates success collaborating with
faculty members on research projects and assisting with securing internal/external funding;
- Demonstates success in providing
optimal learning environments for students to embrace statistics, statistical analysis and/or research design and methods;
- Demonstrates ability to appy statistic and research design/methods to real-world situationd in a way that is culturally relevant to
African American and other diverse groups of students; and
- Experience in teaching and/or doing research using both quantitative and
qualitative research desigs, methods and analyses; or, has been exposed to quantitative and qualitative designs, methods and analyses and is
interested and/or willing to gain more proficiency/training in the same.
hiring rate is $65,000.00.Pay Plan
