ACADEMIC FIELDWORK COORDINATOR IN THE SCHOOL OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

The School of Occupational Therapy at Pacific University invites applications for an 11-month, full-time, extended-term track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in our entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. The position is available beginning in the 2021/2022 academic year. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Occupational Therapy Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community through their teaching, scholarship, and service. Academic Fieldwork Coordinators supervise, mentor, advise, and teach in the School of Occupational Therapy. Academic Fieldwork Coordinators are full participants in the success of the entry-level Occupational Therapy doctorate program and the fulfillment of the mission of the School of Occupational Therapy. Preferred candidates should have experience in design and coordination of level I and level II fieldwork rotations, oversight of fieldwork relations and activities, oversight of fieldwork site selection and facility contracts, and data management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(a) act as primary coordinator for level I fieldwork experiences, (b) support coordination of level II fieldwork experiences, (c) develop and implement new fieldwork sites, (d) supervise and mentor graduate students enrolled in the School of Occupational Therapy, (e) participate in growth and development of the fieldwork program, (f) serve as a student academic and capstone advisor, and (g) teach students academic and clinical coursework. Additional responsibilities include scholarship activities, service at all levels of the University, and service to the profession. Specific assignments are dependent upon program needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Occupational therapist with NBCOT certification
  2. Eligibility for licensure in Oregon
  3. Doctorate degree in occupational therapy or a related field (PhD, EdD, post-professional OTD)
  4. Minimum of 3 years fieldwork (level I and/or level II) experience (>5 preferred) as an Occupational Therapist in clinical practice
  5. Demonstrated clinical and disciplinary expertise
  6. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  7. Experience in leadership and inter-professional collaboration
  8. Successful completion of federal background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience as a full-time faculty member
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in instructional technology
  3. Health care administration/management education and/or experience
  4. International focus/experience
  5. Previous teaching experience is preferred
