Do you like working in a fast-paced office performing a variety of tasks where no two days are quite the same? DO you enjoy interaction with others and do you have great customer service skills? This administrative support position may be of interest to you. The Administrative Specialist CL2 position in the Admissions Office at USM combines critical customer service, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, along with front-end office work in support of the team and of prospective students, family members, school counselors, and community members. The Admissions Office is an exciting place to be - where staff provides opportunities for students to learn about the University that help them make the best decisions in the next stage of their educational career. Responsibilities primarily include covering phones, responding to emails, and performing general office duties, as well as scanning documents, and preparing and processing admission packets for newly admitted students. This position performs varied work involved with application processing for both undergraduate and graduate operations in Admissions. The day-to-day work involves completing daily assignments, answering phones and forwarding calls to appropriate staff members for follow-up, assisting the travel coordinator in organizing college recruitment programming for admission counselors, generating and mailing letters, and gathering materials for admission packets and other mailings. The work is primarily routine in nature with specific goals and objectives, where it may be required to adopt standard processes and practices as necessary to complete day-to-day work assignments. The selected candidate will benefit from the mentorship of experienced colleagues and will work alongside others in similar positions.

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. or international credential) AND sufficient experience, including two years administrative support experience.
