Duties:

Teach courses and lead cohorts of students from start to finish through our Occupational Endorsement in Entry-level Welding. Class and syllabus preparation and creating/planning class projects that incorporate class-taught skills. Work with students individually, as needed, and train students in employment welding techniques. Hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Be proactive in developing and modifying curriculum for delivery and other teaching modalities. Provide University and Community service.Essential

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong background in welding.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with private and public external constituencies.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Previous teaching experience and willingness to work at variable times/days.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of teaching experience at the community college or university level.
  • Industry-appropriate certifications, licenses, permits, and formal qualifications in welding, diesel, and/or industrial trade.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

AAS in Welding or a combination of education and experience w/current relevant certifications. At least five years experience in the welding, diesel or other industrial field with increasing levels of responsibilities.
