The Anesthesiology Department is seeking a full time CRNA faculty for the Anesthesiology Program. This position will be based in Orlando with travel to other classroom locations throughout the year as necessary (Ocala/Gainesville, Tampa, West Palm and Hollywood). Applicant must be enthusiastic about teaching in both Post Baccalaureate and Post Master's DNP curriculum. Strong writing and advising skills in DNP projects a must. Applicant must have simulation teaching experience and ability to teach, mentor and advise in nurse anesthesiology curriculum. Curriculum vitae should reflect experience in teaching, service and scholarship. Experience with teaching hybrid and on line courses preferred.
This is a full time 12-month faculty appointment at the Orlando campus, reporting to the Program Administrator for the Doctor of Nurse Practice Program in Anesthesiology. The position has expected travel to Ocala, Tampa, West Palm and Hollywood campuses throughout the year.
The Anesthesiology Program has a Post Baccalaureate and Post Masters DNP Track. The Post Baccalaureate DNP program was accredited in November 2017 by the Council on Accreditation (COA) with the premise that faculty resources would be increased as DNP projects began.
The program budgeted for 8 Post Masters DNP CRNAs, therefore, enrollment has more than doubled and another doctoral prepared CRNA faculty is needed to help with the DNP curriculum and projects.
An onsite accreditation is scheduled for October 2021. Faculty resources will be reviewed by the COA and evidence of essential faculty resources must be present.
Effective start date for this position is July 1st, 2021.Essential Functions
Teach in Anesthesiology and DNP courses in both Post Baccalaureate and Post Master's DNP programs, and simulation lab based on expertise and interest.
Advise students progressing through the program.
Participate in research and other scholarly work(s)
Engage in community and professional service.
Create and maintain liaisons with professional organizations at the local, state and national levels.
Serve on university ad program committees including the Anesthesiology Program Admissions and Curriculum Committees.
Other duties as assigned by Program Administrator
Earned doctoral degree and or progress towards a doctorate preferred.
Eligible for Assistant/Associate Professor Rank
Three or more years of professional experience
At least one-year teaching experience in an academic setting and strong background in clinical anesthesia preferred.
Nationally certified as a CRNA and licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.
Commitment to education of non-traditional students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Experience with teaching in hybrid/on line modalities preferred.
Travel to all geographical classroom campuses: Ocala, Tampa, West Palm, Hollywood and Orlando
