Job Description SummaryThe Department of Accountancy and the Center for Integration of Science and Industry at Bentley University is seeking candidates for a visiting faculty position with a 2-2 teaching load in Accountancy and research with the Center. The position has competitive compensation and a 2-year contract. This unique visiting position is seeking recent Ph.D.s who wish to build a stronger research profile working with a team of leading interdisciplinary researchers focused on the business of pharmaceutical innovation.
This position is a non-tenure-track status university faculty position that performs activities of an assistant professor in the department. Candidates are expected to participate in the following areas:
Scholarly activities, teaching and service at a level necessary to support the School's mission and help maintain accreditation standards.
Teach 6 credit hours per semester, all areas of Accounting considered.
Ability to apply for a tenure-track position if/when available
Conduct research with the Center for Integration of Science and Industry, including both independent and collaborative research with the Center's interdisciplinary teams of recent PhD graduates from biomedical/health sciences, undergraduate and graduate researchers, affiliated faculty, and Executives In Residence. Research will be consistent with the focus of the grants that provide funding for the Center as agreed with the principal investigator. Research is intended to demonstrate both Intellectual Merit in the discipline and Broader Impacts in society and establish a foundation for an independent research program in Accountancy. Research will be targeted to appropriate journals both in in Accountancy and pharmaceutical innovation and are expected to include peer-reviewed research, working papers, or reports based on the goals of the research, requirements of the funding agency, or disciplinary standards.
