Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing Faculty School of Nursing, Health and Natural
Sciences Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing Position

Salary: $57,371 Description
Primary responsibilities will include classroom and
clinical teaching in the nursing programs. The position puts emphasis on nursing instruction for the ASN and/or BSN program, engagement in
appropriate institutional/community service, and maintaining an active program of scholarly professional development. Employment is
contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen which are pre-clinical requirements and conditions of
employment. Position is pending funding. The School of Nursing, Health and Natural Sciences houses faculty in nursing, health information
management, and natural sciences. There are 15 full-time nursing faculty members who are involved in classroom and clinical education
delivery to Associate of Science in Nursing and/or Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs. The Bachelor of Science Department houses the
RN-BSN, which is an established program that is on-line, and a pre-licensure BSN that started in Fall 2017. The School also has a BS in
Health Information Management and Biology degree programs.
Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously
since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the
state as a residential two-year college, Gordon State College was named a state college in 2006 and was then asked to develop selective four
year programs to address critical state needs. Since that time, many baccalaureate programs have been developed and initiated, two of which
are the RN-BSN and BSN programs. Gordon State College serves more than 3000 students with the good work of full- and part-time faculty. The
main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia, a lovely town located an hour south of Atlanta, and 45 minutes northeast of
Macon. Students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan
center and an international airport. Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters of Science in Nursing
- Previous teaching experience in a nursing program
