Job Description

The English program at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College announces a tenure-track position, primarily in composition, at the assistant professor rank. The position is available August 2021.

The successful candidate is primarily responsible for teaching developmental, first-year, and second-year composition courses, business and technical writing courses, and upper-division writing courses. All full-time, tenure track faculty members in the English program teach a minimum of 24 credits of upper and lower-level courses per academic year, including the General Education composition sequence. Faculty members are also expected to advise students and serve on committees.

Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D. in English or Rhetoric/Composition or a related field. Documented experience with online teaching modalities is expected. Secondary interests in assessment and developmental reading and writing are highly desirable.
