The Department of Biology offers B.S. degrees in biology and biology education, and features an outstanding program of undergraduate research.



Job Summary

The University of North Georgia invites applications for a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Biology. The biology department is interested in candidates who have developed effective teaching strategies for the educational advancement of students from groups underrepresented in higher education or in their field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses including majors and non-majors introductory biology, and courses in specialty which including marine biology; scholarly work involving undergraduates; advising students; service to the department, university and community; and professional development.


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D., or terminal degree, at the time of hire in biology or related discipline.
  • Teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Expectations for this position are that 60% of the workload is dedicated to teaching and that 40% is divided between service and professional development.
