Position Details:

The Division of Business at Mayville State University is seeking applicants for a full-time special appointment, non-tenure track position as Instructor/Assistant Professor of Business beginning August 18, 2021. Consideration may be given to move to a tenure-track position including potential tenure credit for prior years of service depending upon credentials and experience.

Work within the Division of Business and support the University, as a team member by collaborating with faculty, staff and students on committees, program planning, assessment, academic advising, and other needs as they become known.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaching courses with general business content, including and not limited to accounting, communication, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, or others depending on qualifications and interests as well as departmental needs
• Teach courses in multiple formats (face-to-face, distance, synchronous and asynchronous)
• Advising and mentoring students
• Participating in program development, planning, and assessment activities
• Serving the division, university, and community 

Required Competencies:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach and advise students
• Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and with students, faculty, staff and community members with diverse backgrounds
• Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching, including online delivery
• Ability to articulate and support the university's personal service philosophy with a strong commitment to teaching and learning in a college setting

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Marketing, or closely related field
• Relevant business or industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Terminal degree, additional graduate level degree, or industry certification
• Experience with a variety of course delivery methods and technologies
• Three years full-time teaching experience at postsecondary institution
• Managerial experience in business or industry
• Demonstrated leadership and community service
