Lane Community College is pleased to announce the recruitment for a new Senior Instructional Dean for the Health Professions, Health, and Physical Education Division. Our Health Professions, Health, and Physical Education Division offers a variety of programs to assist individuals wishing to enter health care careers, improve health education, and participate in physical education activities. The excellence of each program is evidenced by graduates’ high scores on licensing board exams, rapid placement graduates in local and regional employment, and in program accreditation from governing boards. This is a full-time position.

Lane employees must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.

Position Purpose

Lead and manage the Health Professions, Health, and Physical Education Division in a manner that promotes quality student learning, drives fiscal sustainability, and supports faculty and staff.

  • The Division includes: Dental Assistant, Dental Hygiene, Medical Assistant, Health Information Management, Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomy, Massage Therapy, Health, and Physical Education.
  • Support Continuing Education including Advanced and Intermediate EMT, Wilderness EMT and Swift Water Rescue. Supports distance education cohorts (includes Dental Health, Physical Therapist Assistant, Nursing and Medical Assistant).
  • Manage and direct the Lane Dental Clinic: this fully functioning dental clinic provides dental care to the public in an off-campus setting and operates as an educational site for students in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required Education: Master’s Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Required Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative, management, and/or leadership experience in higher education.

Conditions of Employment: Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Education: Associates, Bachelors and/or Masters degree in a field closely related to Health Professions disciplines.

Preferred Experience:

  • Administrative experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience in a related health care industry, clinical or administrative assignment.
