Hastings College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track professor of Religion rank and field of specialty open - must be able to offer a range of courses in traditional Judeo-Christian topics, but we welcome candidates who can offer coursework in additional traditions. The successful candidate will hold a PhD or be ABD in Religious Studies or a related field, and will be a teacher/scholar engaged in their field who is committed to innovative, effective teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will become an active part of an effort to revitalize the place of religion and spiritual discernment on campus. We particularly encourage applicants who, adhering to the interdisciplinary ethos of the History, Philosophy, and Religion Department, can offer courses in support of History, Philosophy, Foreign Language, or other majors and minors.
Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter, statement of teaching philosophy, a CV that includes references, and two syllabi of courses taught or courses envisioned teaching. We also ask that applicants include in their cover letter or in a stand-alone document statements about their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
