Description
Iona college Department of Nursing invites applications for full time tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Nursing for the Fall 2021 semester. The ideal candidates for these positions will have clinical and teaching experience in any of the following areas of clinical specialization: Nursing Care of the Adult and Aging Patient; Nursing Care of Children and the Childbearing Family; Behavioral and Community Health. The candidate selected will teach a full-time course load of nursing classes which will involve preparation of course materials, delivery of content, and evaluation of student learning. The candidate will be responsible for student clinical activities as well as classroom activities. The candidate will also be expected to participate in college activities, committees, and seminars as well as departmental meetings/activities.
Required Experience:
- An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (PhD, DNP or EdD required)
- A master's degree in nursing
- New York State unencumbered RN License
- CNE certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience required
- Recognized scholarly experience as evidenced by academic accomplishments, publications, and service commensurate with the rank of appointment
- Evidence of Scholarly Activity
- A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity
- Excellent communication to a wide range of audiences, organizational, teaching, leadership and time management skills
- Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
