Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering The Mechanical Engineering Department at Penn State Behrend
invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position starting in fall 2021 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Areas of teaching interest
are mechanical systems (machine dynamics and machine design), manufacturing, and biomedical engineering. The selected candidate should be
committed to excellence in undergraduate education, an active research program, and service to the university. Applied research and
collaboration with local industry are highly valued as part of Penn State Behrend's Open Lab initiative. Duties include teaching
undergraduate courses and guiding senior design projects. The selected candidate must be able to work in a collaborative environment and
establish a research program that integrates undergraduate student experiences. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related
field, is required by appointment start date. Candidates, with a recognized research record, supported by over ten archival journal
publications, and teaching experience of over five years, may be considered for a higher rank.
