The Asian Studies Department at Vanderbilt University invites applications for the position of Mellon Assistant Professor of Asian American
Studies (non-tenure-track, 3- year appointment, 2-2 teaching load). The department seeks a candidate with an innovative scholarly research
agenda and a commitment to undergraduate education. The successful candidate will contribute to the vision and establishment of a new Asian
American program of study at Vanderbilt. Applications are
particularly welcome from humanistic and qualitative social science scholars
whose research investigates Asian America studies within the broader contexts of Asian diaspora, migration, racial justice, and gender and
Applicants must have fulfilled all requirements for their Ph.D, including completion of the dissertation,
prior to the start of the position and no more than four years before.
