ASSISSTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION
The Department of Education of Tennessee Wesleyan University in
Athens, Tennessee invites applications for a Tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Teacher
Education Program. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching courses in both baccalaureate and master's
programs
- Coordinating and develop partnerships with local education associations
- Coordinating students' clinical
experiences
- Advising students
- Serving on university committees
- Supervising students with TEAM and/or edTPA
assessment
- Participating in recruitment and retention activities (including some summer and weekend days)
- Participating in
data-driven program development
Specific requirements for the position include:
- Minimum degree of
EdS
- Eighteen hours of course work at the master's level or above in Teacher Education, Secondary Education, or Curriculum and
Instruction
- Evidence of effective teaching in higher education and K-12/secondary education
- Evidence of effective
collaboration with stakeholders
- Evidence of effective data driven decision making
- Experience with edTPA teacher
preparation assessment and TEAM teacher evaluation system
- Experience with CAEP or State accreditation and program
development
