Description of Responsibilities:
The Assistant Professor of Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) will be required to teach courses in biomedical informatics, to engage in research and collaborate with biomedical informatics students on research or experiential projects, to assist the BHI director in service activities, and to promote students' ability to succeed in a global community.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biomedical Informatics, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline
  • Ability to teach in related areas in Information Science or Computer Science
  • 1 year of research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and/or Machine Learning applied to Biomedicine (biology or medicine)
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion

Description of Department: The Computer Science Department is a highly progressive department with a vibrant and active faculty and students. Our department currently offers a Computer Science degree, an Information Science degree, and ABET-accredited Software Engineering degree. We also offer a Master's of Science in Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) and jointly offer a Master's Program titled Human Computer Interaction (HCI) which has a significant Psychology component with emphasis on both human factors and software engineering. Recently, a number of new graduate programs have been created including a Professional Science Master's degree in BHI, a Professional Science Master's degree in HCI and graduate certificates in Integrated Health Systems and Health Information

Technology. We also participate in offering interdisciplinary programs in Cognitive Science and Linguistics
