Assistant/Associate/Professor for Rosenberg School of Optometry

The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor for Rosenberg School of Optometry.

This position is considered a "Responsible Employee" under Title IX federal regulations and "Mandatory Reporter" under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

• Classroom and clinical laboratory teaching in the optometry theory and clinical examination course series;
• Clinical duties in the UIWSO Eye care Clinics;
• Participation in research activities or projects;
• Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

OD from an accredited school or college of optometry

Completion of a residency/fellowship program or a minimum of three (3) years equivalent clinical experience

Preference will be given to applicants with advanced academic degrees, residency training, or teaching experience

License to practice full-scope of optometry in Texas; If license is not possessed, selected candidate must obtain optometry license for state of Texas by date of hire.
