Job Description

Full-Time, Tenure Track, Assistant Professor of Counseling in the Counseling, School Psychology, and Special Education Department beginning Fall 2021 (August 2021). This position will teach courses to graduate students in Counseling, both web-based and face to face. Supervision of students in practicum or internship in a variety of academic disciplines may be required. Participation in departmental and university wide committee work as well as student advisement. Maintain a record of scholarship and other duties as assigned.

This position may be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.

Required Qualifications: Doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program with employment as full-time faculty member in a counselor education and supervision minimum. Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a counselor in PA State. Counseling experience in college or mental health settings, knowledge of equity and inclusion informed theories and research, and an understanding of working with diverse populations. Research interests or professional experience in evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions preferred. Commitment to liberal arts education. ABD will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: A doctoral degree in Counseling is preferred. College level teaching experience and evidence of scholarly potential. Experience in online instruction. Teaching experience with diverse populations. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills and collegial attitude. The successful applicant will be required to complete an interview and/or teaching demonstration.
