The Department of
Mathematical Sciences at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month position in Mathematics at the
assistant professor rank, beginning in August 2021. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses for majors and non-majors, ongoing
scholarly activity, and service to the department and the University.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied
mathematics, statistics, data science, or a closely related field and a commitment to excellence in teaching. The University expects
faculty to be involved in the students learning through mentoring, student support, outreach initiatives, and other activities related to
the college experience. To facilitate this highly interactive faculty-student relationship, the typical teaching load is 24 credit-hours per
year.
Preference will be given to candidates who have the experience or interest in teaching Statistics and applied math courses such
as Differential Equations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of a growing department with Mathematics,
Actuarial Science, Data Science, and Math Education programs.
Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Mathematical
Sciences, this faculty position will support the fulfillment of the University's mission, purpose and goals. The faculty position will
create an inclusive educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability.
