Assistant Professor, Exceptional Child Education (Tenure Track)
Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education
All tenure track faculty members teach the equivalent of 12 hours per semester and maintain an active scholarly work in their field. This position would include both undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Exceptional Child Education program.
As a public regional university (with a graduate mission), Southeast seeks candidates with a commitment to excellent undergraduate (and graduate) education and student success within the framework of the teacher-scholar model. Applications of instructional technology and pedagogical research are supported through the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning and the Office of Online Learning. Successful candidates will contribute to the development of innovative curricula and delivery strategies, including traditional, blended and online formats, and participate in initiatives promoting student success, retention and degree completion.

Departmental Information: The College of Education at Southeast Missouri State University has an award winning educator preparation program that is CAEP accredited and approved by the MO Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Additionally, graduate programs and course work are offered in elementary, early childhood, and exceptional child education, including a Master of Arts in Exceptional Child Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Exceptional Child Education. The educator preparation programs are experiential, field-based, with faculty actively engaged in area PreK - 12 schools.
