Job Description

Position Summary

Baltimore City Community College is seeking an Assistant Professor/Program Coordinator in Criminal Justice. The position is responsible for the delivery of criminal justice course instruction, facilitation of student learning and success, the on-going development of curriculum and learning strategies which meet the needs of student and employers. The selected candidate will teach 15 credit hours per semester in criminal justice. Responsibilities include maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; training faculty in new curriculum as needed; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments include any combination of face to face (day or evening), hybrid or online, and are subject to change as needed. The candidate will coordinate student field experience on campus and in collaboration with the local police and the Police Academy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Three years of experience full-time teaching in a college/university setting.
  • Five full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in law enforcement, a maximum of one year of this experience may be in corrections.
  • Familiarity with a learning management system (LMS).
