Job Description



Under the general direction of the Registrar the Assistant Registrar manages the student registration and advising process; controls University academic records ensuring accuracy, integrity, security, and appropriate access; serves as the primary data steward for the Registrar’s Office; Support institutional improvement initiatives provides a positive, professional experience for students, faculty, staff and guests; assists the Registrar in all functions of the office.


Job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage Registrar’s Office work study students
  • Cross-trains in and provides assistance to various areas of the Office of the Registrar unit
  • Oversee accurate data entry of curriculum and scheduling in Jenzabar
  • Manage registration process for incoming, continuing and re-entering students
  • Provide timely, precise guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff
  • Perform periodic academic audits, graduation audits and academic honors
  • Identify anticipated graduates
  • Create, maintain, and improve academic processes
  • Certify enrollment of military veterans to Veteran’s Affairs
  • Analyze data and system functionality to ensure maximized efficiency
  • Develop reports and supply data requests
  • Develop training materials
  • Assist with daily front-office needs as necessary
  • Assist the Registrar and office in any projects, tasks, or duties deemed necessary.
  • Represent the Registrar in her absence
  • Complete all assigned daily duties on a daily basis, and all others in a timely manner.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • 2-3 years experience working with student records, especially in Registrar’s department;
  • working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards such as FERPA and AACRAO. Preferred knowledge of federal financial aid guidelines effecting higher education;
  • thorough knowledge of student information systems or other enterprise resource planning systems and related applications;
  • experience writing and developing reports using reporting tools such as SAP Crystal Reports, QlikView, Izenda, or Tableau is preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to analyze complex problems and translate into new system requirements, processes, and procedures; friendly, customer service-oriented attitude; strong oral and written communication; ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking and work with interruptions; report development skills; ability to work efficiently, be detail-oriented, organized and manage projects from start to finish with minimum supervision. Possess solid computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows environment. Strong preference given to those with demonstrated knowledge of Jenzabar and Infomaker software; familiarity with other specific applications used by the University is a plus.
