Job Description


JOB OBJECTIVES: The data analytics analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the business analytics solutions for the company. The position requires expertise in relational and multidimensional database schemas. Primary responsibilities include the aggregation and maintenance of data from multiple sources in a data warehouse to support the company’s business intelligence needs, designing and building OLAP (online analytical processing) cubes, applying data mining algorithms, writing queries, and designing reports. The data analytics analyst will need to build strong relationships with internal customers to analyze system use, understand data, and interpret customer needs to fulfill the organization’s business intelligence needs.







  • Oversee the development and operations of an enterprise data warehouse, combining data from multiple data sources, systems, and vendors.
  • Report writing for organizational and operational business intelligence needs using Power BI, Jenzabar analytics, and SSRS reporting tools. Ensure accuracy of reports by working with data owners, performing data audits, and regularly reviewing soundness of owned reports. 
  • Coordinate with management and data owners to identify key performance indicators and to design and implement reporting solutions.
  • Work with developers, integrators, system administrators, the applications team, and vendor support to build and maintain the data warehouse.
  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, visibility, and value.
  • Collect and document business requirements for reports and projects.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for end-users of the ERP.
  • Support system upgrades including testing, user training, department acceptance and support.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in business/finance, computer science, or information technology major from accredited college. 
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience using relational and multidimensional database schemas.
  • Four or more years of experience with reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, Cognos).
  • Four or more years working with T-SQL and R. 
  • Four or more years working with ERPs systems, Jenzabar EX for higher education is a plus. 
  • Higher Education experience a plus.


  • Working knowledge and experience in relational data, dimensional data modeling techniques, OLAP cubes, metadata, and reports.
  • Ability to understand and find appropriate applications for data and analysis results.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and consequences of proposed actions, articulates possibilities, and implements recommendations to support goals. Demonstrate critical, creative, and reflective thinking.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and software, at times without formal training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at varying levels of computer literacy, including technical staff, application vendors, and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work with virtual teams.
  • Work effectively as an individual or as a member of team.
  • Able to write detailed procedures, specifications, and effectively document solutions per departmental specification.
  • Able to manage basic projects through analysis of requirements, priority and task management, collaboration, ongoing communication, and a drive to deliver quality solutions.
  • Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity.


  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal.  Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. 
  • May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move weight up to twelve (12) pounds and or exerting up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
