The Mass Communication faculty member will teach courses for a new College program for Interactive Media Production, including, but not limited to, digital entertainment, television studio production, social media, and other related courses.
The position supports HCPS dual enrollment and HCC regularly scheduled courses on campus and online. Teaching in the high school environment may be required. This position may require traveling between campus and several high schools in Harford County.
The faculty member will provide instruction as assigned; conduct and assess instruction; assist students through academic advising; establish, post, and maintain office hours; and provide leadership for the development, growth, and support of the assigned area. Other duties include supporting the mission, vision and values of the College and policies of the Board of Trustees; serving on various College committees, task forces and other groups; and participating in various official College ceremonies and meetings.
This is a one-year, full-time faculty position scheduled to begin August 2021 and end May 2022. Contract continuation will depend on the success and enrollment of the new program.
A master’s degree in Mass Communications and one year of full-time college teaching or the equivalent adjunct teaching, preferably in a community college setting, are required.

Preferred qualifications include: experience teaching graphics, audio, video, and electronic media production and editing for project development; experience teaching in a high school environment; and at least one year of online teaching experience.
