D'Youville invites innovative, creative and mission focused candidates to apply for a full-time position as a Nutrition Empowerment Program

Director. This is a grant funded position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2021. The selected candidate will launch D'Youville's state of the art Hub Demonstration Kitchen as well as develop, manage and evaluate nutrition programming offered in the Hub. Nutrition programming will be delivered to underserved and underrepresented residents of the West side of Buffalo, NY.

Under new leadership, D'Youville is immersed in ambitious change initiatives to improve health outcomes and engage the surrounding community. Dedicated to building thriving, healthy communities, D'Youville is nurturing new programming in the soon to open Health Professions Hub. The Hub will be home to a healthcare clinic, educational and workforce development opportunities, and the Hub Demonstration Kitchen.

Recognizing the role of food in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease, nutrition programming will be designed  and implemented  in the Hub Demonstration Kitchen to positively impact the health of the D'Youville's West Side neighbors. The Nutrition Empowerment Program Director  will be critical in ensuring that the Hub Demonstration  Kitchen is operational to begin providing impactful, outcomes-based nutrition programming.  Understanding  the needs of the community, candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.      ·

Position Details

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing Hub Demonstration Kitchen operations and designing, planning and managing nutrition programming for the Nutrition Empowerment Program. The Program Director is responsible for supervising the program coordinator and consultants to assist in the delivery of nutrition programming that will include: culinary classes, food demonstrations, Farm to College Markets, and food entrepreneurship. These programs will be delivered to underserved and underrepresented residents of the West side of Buffalo. The candidate must be able to engage with community members in the target population; establish community relationships; work well with multiple organizational units within D'Youville.

The selected applicant will be responsible for:

Establish and manage Demonstration Kitchen

Assist in the design, implementation, and assessment of nutrition programming

Develop, submit and administer quarterly reports Supervise performance of program staff

Act as a liaison between various external stakeholders and the institution

Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures

Maintain Program records such as enrollment, retention, evaluations (formative and summative)

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a health-related field

Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Food service operations and management experience ServSafe® Certification preferred

Preference will be given to individuals who speak a ·second language

Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and/or evenings as needed based on programming and staffing
