Adler University, Chicago, Department of Counseling and Integrated Programs is seeking qualified candidates for a full time core faculty position, entry rank, for the M. A. in Counseling: Specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling(CMHC) program starting Summer 2021 or until the position is filled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates are required to have a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, experience in teaching, supervision of practicum/internship students, and clinical practice. The candidate must be eligible for Illinois counselor licensure. Preference will be given to those have expertise in teaching Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Research & Program Evaluation, Couple and Family Counseling, Assessment and Appraisal, and/or career counseling. Doctoral Candidates will be considered with the condition of degree completion within the first year of appointment.

This position is a 12-month position which is designed to provide support of the online CMHC teaching modality as well as the ground program which is based in Chicago. It requires the teaching of online, residency week, evening and/or weekend classes, and/or on-ground courses. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and professional staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include teaching, advising and mentoring students, participation in institutional and departmental committees, admission efforts, advising/ mentoring students, as well as support of faculty governance, department and institutional initiatives. Candidates must be willing to align with the University's mission and values which is training socially responsible practitioners, engaging communities, and advancing social justice.
