Adler University is seeking a full time, 10-month contract, core faculty position for its Ph.D. Program in Counselor Education and Supervision (DCES), starting in Fall 2021. Under the general guidance of the Program Director of the DCES program, the Core Faculty member leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of the DCES Program and the institution. Supports culture development and management efforts. The Core Faculty position include teaching courses in areas of expertise, student advisement and mentoring, serving on dissertation committees and supervising clinical practicum and internships, active in committee work (e.g., faculty welfare committees, diversity committee), and curriculum development and program advocacy.

Certifications/Licenses: Eligible for Illinois Licensure or must become licensed by the end of the first year of employment. State of Illinois Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LCP)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Faculty members are expected to teach; develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught; and collaborate with department faculty on curriculum and program policies. In addition, faculty engage in student learning assessment activities, as well as participate in professional development activities. Full time faculty are expected to maintain a research agenda which includes chairing dissertations as well as serving as dissertation committee members.
Scholarship/Research:
Faculty members are expected to engage in scholarship activities, which may include submissions to peer-review journals or professional and/or lay readership publications; present at academic and professional conferences; and develop and deliver professional workshops and training programs for professionals. Active engagement in ongoing research projects and other scholarly pursuits is encouraged. Scholarship is broadly defined and consistent with our practitioner model and socially responsible practice focus.
Service:
Faculty members are expected to serve on committees at the campus, department, and professional level. Faculty must demonstrate engagement in and commitment to service to the community and profession consistent with the mission and values of the university. Diversity, socially responsible practice, advocacy and service to underserved communities and populations are core elements of our training model and faculty mentor and support students, providing strong role models reflecting these priorities.
