Professor/Founding Director, Speech Language Pathology
D’Youville invites applications for a full-time, faculty appointment at the rank of associate/full professor to be the founding director of a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. This is a full-time, academic year appointment to commence as soon as possible, with the tenure home in a Department of the School of Health Professions.
The School of Health Professions welcomes applications from dynamic, energized and committed persons who are ready to be a vital member of our scholar-practitioner team. We seek a highly motivated individual with demonstrated success in professional practice and post-secondary-level teaching. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and leadership qualities. We seek candidates who have a demonstrated potential for collaborative leadership and shared faculty governance and who can implement the School’s strategic plan while promoting new strategic teaching, research and community-based initiatives. The founding Director works with faculty and staff to realize the school’s vision and mission and build a School of national and international distinction. The Director will be driven by a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and will champion the University’s mission of student success.
The newly developed Speech Language Pathology program will join D’Youville’s School of Health Professions as one of nine departments with an annual enrollment of 1,000 students matriculated in undergraduate to doctoral degree programs. With a dedicated and engaged faculty committed to academic excellence and an inclusive environment for teaching and learning, the School of Health Professions embraces curricular innovation with a focus on inter-professional education. The School promotes scholarship among its faculty and students and is committed to maintaining a footprint of service that honors the spirit of Marguerite D’Youville.

2.Demonstrated experience in interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaborations.
3.Demonstrated success in fundraising and securing external support, particularly grants from public agencies and private foundations.
4.Demonstrated successful teaching in areas that complement the to be developed curriculum.
