Position Summary


ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & PURCHASING SPECIALIST

Purchasing and Accounts Payable Department

Full Time (2 positions available)

Primary Responsibilities

• Processes campus fixed assets forms, maintains fixed assets records, and conducts campus annual inventory reporting
• Reviews vendor invoices and payment vouchers for compliance and data entry into automated system
• Processes purchase requisitions and utilizes automated system to produce and process purchase orders
• Assists with Purchasing Card program processing
• Organizes and maintains electronic and paper documentation and files
• Communicates with University departments and vendors concerning inquiries and discrepancies
• Answers phone calls, responds to email messages, and processes checks and mail
• Provides general clerical support and assistance on other projects for the department

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated experience with web-based applications, preferably purchasing or accounting system
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated evidence of math skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile data
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to customer service
