Southeast Missouri State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time faculty position to support the Construction Management and Design Program in the Department of Engineering & Technology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in construction management
  • Conduct lab-based activities and experiential learning as appropriate, and maintain equipment and facilities associated with the courses taught
  • Support the construction management option of the technology management program and course curriculum.
  • Maintain and advance the industrial advisory board associated with the construction management program
  • Maintain and advance relationships with professionals in the construction management industry for program improvement and career placement for students
  • Advise and mentor students, and provide leadership to the construction management student organizations
  • Provide service to the department/college/university, including participation in recruitment and retention activities



Required Qualifications


  • For Tenure-Track consideration: Ph.D. in construction management, technology management, or a closely related field. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government-certified university.)
  • For Non-Tenure Track consideration: Master's degree in construction management, technology management, technology, or a closely related field. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government-certified university.)
  • Ability to provide high-quality instruction, utilizing various teaching delivery strategies (including, but not limited to: face-to-face/in-person, blended, online courses, lab-based courses, experiential learning, etc.), in areas such as: cost estimating, building systems, residential and commercial drafting, applications of construction methods and materials, and surveying.
  • Ability to effectively teach hands-on projects within a lab setting, utilizing industry-standard equipment and software. Experience using software within our curriculum is a plus.
  • Demonstrated relevant industrial experience. Academic experience, relevant professional certifications, and/or credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to maintain and advance relationships with professionals in the construction management industry for program improvement and career placement for students.
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective communication skills (including oral, written, and interpersonal).
  • Demonstrated student-oriented mindset, including promoting the program, advising and mentoring students, and helping students with internship and career placement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the professional community.
