The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) at the University of Oklahoma is seeking candidates to fill one tenure-track position in mechanical engineering at the Assistant Professor level in the area of computational modeling and simulation of energy systems in support of sustainable buildings and communities.
The position is part of a strategic university Smart Grid and Community research and education initiative. Candidates who are interested in working collaboratively and collegially with faculty in AME and across the college and university are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas are of particular interest for the position:
Successful candidates are expected to develop a nationally recognized research program, mentor and nurture undergraduate and graduate students, and promote an inclusive environment inside and outside the classroom.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Department and Region: AME currently has 27 full-time faculty members and over 800 undergraduate and 70 graduate students. Currently, both AME and the Gallogly College of Engineering are experiencing strong growth in scholarly research, corporate and private donations, and student enrollment. AME has maintained its historically strong student quality with more than 70 National Merit Scholars currently enrolled.
