Position Description
Under general direction of the Executive Director, Institutional Advancement, manage and direct the activities and operations of the Career Center and special programs/services such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other grant funded programs.
Ideal Candidate Statement
The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing students and their community. The candidate is familiar with workforce and career development and is experienced in administering Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs. This person must be goal-oriented and able to lead the Career Center at an institutional and regional level. The successful candidate is comfortable speaking with campus students, key stakeholders, grant partners, funders, and employers in public and private settings.
The successful candidate possesses the ability to create meaningful partnerships across the College and the greater Bay Area region, and must embrace the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion for students, community members, and industry partners. The successful candidate must be committed to the values of the College and lead with integrity.
This position is funded by categorical resources, and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, business, communications, or related field, a minimum of (1) one year of supervisory experience, and (3) three years' experience related to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program(s);
AND
Commitment to community college goals/objectives of being an equity-based and anti-racist institution, and providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests;
AND
Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.

Salary Placement
Initial salary placement will be determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Management employees typically advance one step on the salary schedule each year and have the potential to reach the current maximum step of $137,472.00 annually.
