Manchester University is seeking a dedicated and scholarly faculty member for a 10-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences (Pharmacy Administration). This is a regular faculty position focusing on the social and administrative sciences within the School of Pharmacy.
What You'll Do:
Teaching (60%)
Provide high-quality instruction in didactic courses in pharmacy social and administrative sciences, both on campus and in a distance pathway.
Collaborate on curriculum development and create, develop, and evaluate innovative teaching methods.
Deliver course content in our introduction to pharmacy sequence, population health, and practice and personal management courses.
Strive to incorporate timely topics and cutting-edge concepts.
Assess student learning and implement changes to demonstrate continuous improvement.
Serve as an exemplary professional role model for students and colleagues.
Scholarship (20%)
Lead and participate in the scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching in social and administrative sciences.
Pursue fundable programs appropriate to the discipline and interests.
Disseminate scholarly results through publications, presentations, and teaching.
As appropriate, mentor and collaborate with other scholars.
Service (20%)
Serve as a faculty mentor to pharmacy students.
Participate in faculty governance, including attending full faculty, college, department, and committee meetings.
Contribute to departmental and College developmental and planning activities.
Participate in local, state, and/or national professional organizations and development activities.
Contribute to a collaborative departmental culture that fosters teamwork and support.
What You'll Need:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or terminal degree in pharmaceutical science with a focus on social and administrative sciences.
Credentials that support appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (rank is commensurate with experience and credentials).
Understanding of current pharmacy education and practice, especially pharmacy administration.
A commitment to interdisciplinary education in health sciences.
Effective communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to changing teaching and learning environments and content-delivery methods.
Proficiency in basic computer use (word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, internet).
